Member of the Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Nawwaf Moussawi said on Friday that the possibility of an Israeli war against Lebanon was too weak.

Speaking to Al-Manar, Moussawi said that an Israeli war couldn't take place without an American green light. "In our political and military evaluation, we believe that the probability of an Israeli war against Lebanon in the near future is too weak," he said, highlighting at the same time the Resistance's readiness to all options.

According to the Hezbollah MP, the Resistance has to recall its Israeli enemy of its strength from time to time as a response to its continuous threats against Lebanon. "When we respond to the Israeli threats, we seek to frighten our enemy, not our people," he stressed. "The Israeli official has to understand that any crazy decision to launch a war against Lebanon would be the beginning of the end of his political life. For his part, the Israeli individual has to perceive that he wouldn't be safe in any war. Whenever the Israeli official and individual are scared, the possibilities of a war decline."

Moussawi praised the stances made by the Lebanese officials in response to the Israeli threats, highlighting those made by President Michel Sleiman, Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Speaker Nabih Berri. "Such stances are a part of the national united stance towards any Israeli danger," he said.

Turning to the statement made lately by the Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman in which he accused Hezbollah of killing former Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri, Moussawi believed that this statement was a "slip of the tongue." However, Moussawi said this statement revealed the truth and uncovered the real Israeli scheme of creating sedition among Lebanese. Therefore, he called on all Lebanese political forces to consolidate and strengthen internal reconciliations and transfer it to the public level.

Asked about the rally that would be held on Sunday to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri, the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc member said his group had wished such occasion could be marked in a climate of unity, noting that all political parties would have participated if a national ceremony was held in the occasion. "Yet, things took another perspective because there is a certain political group, the so-called March 14 coalition, which is seeking to tell the world that it's still politically alive," he said. "It's their right," he added.
