Once again, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan took a firm stance against the Zionist entity over the massacres it has committed in the Gaza Strip, allowing his country to deserve cheers from the Muslim world after proving being Arab more than the Arabs themselves..

And once again, Lebanon assumed the responsibility and paid tribute to Erdogan's "courageous stand" after he angrily left the discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Thursday. Erdogan accused Israel of "barbarian" acts in Gaza before marching off complaining his comments on the war were cut short and criticized the audience for applauding Peres's emotional defense of the conflict against the Palestinian people.

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri sent a telegraph to Erdogan, saluting his stance and position in Davos. "Between the others' stances and yours, the difference is wide just like the difference between the black and white lines," Berri wrote. He addressed Erdogan saying "you got yesterday the appreciation of all the free people, you proved once again you freedom, humanity and if you permit, your Arabism." Berri concluded by expressing his personal appreciation for Erdogan as well as Turkey, its President, government and people.

For his part, the head of the Democratic Gathering MP Walid Jumblatt sent a cable to Erdogan to praise him for his stance. "You have revived our sense of commitment to the nation's causes," he wrote. "Defending Palestine and the slaughtered people of Gaza forced the war criminal and child killer Peres to shut up," he added. "We are proud of you and we are proud of Turkey," Jumblatt wrote.
