APHC Condemns İmposition of Undeclared Curfew |

In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference has strongly condemned the imposition of undeclared curfew in the Valley.
The APHC spokesman in a statement said that the imposition of curfew was uncalled for as the Jammu and Kashmir Coordination Committee had given a call for peaceful protests.
The spokesman deplored that the authorities have turned Badgam and Baramulla districts into garrisons on the occasion of farcical elections drama today (Sunday). “The troopers of 34 Rashtriya Rifles have threatened the people in Chadoora and Sangrama of dire consequences if they didn’t vote. It exposes the façade of elections and India’s claims of being a democratic country,” he added.
While expressing serious concern over the plight of illegally detained Hurriyet leaders including Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Aasiya Andrabi, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Dr Ghulam Muhammad Hubbi, Ayaz Akbar, Syed Saleem Gilani, Syed Bashir Andrabi and Abdul Manan Bukhari, the spokesman said that Kashmiri detainees are treated worse than prisoners convicted in criminal cases and are not provided basic facilities including medical aid. He appealed to the international human rights organizations to take note of detainees’ plight in jails.
The statement also condemning the recent blasts in Pakistan and expressed deep grief over the loss of precious lives in the incident.
On the other hand, the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq will lead the Eid prayers at Jamia Masjid on Tuesday. “I will lead the prayers at Jamia Masjid on Eid,” said Mirwaiz, who has been placed under house arrest for the past four weeks. »
