Al-Qaeda 'plotting New Attacks on US'

Bin Laden is reportedly planning another terrorist operation against the US.

America's nemesis Osama Bin Laden is reportedly planning a new terror attack against the US that would 'outdo by far' the 9/11 attacks.

A source close to the al-Qaeda leadership in Yemen has warned in a report that a new attack against the US will aim 'to change the world [both] politically and economically'.

The report published by an Arabic-language newspaper in London, Al-Quds Al-Arabi, claimed that Bin Laden is closely supervising preparations for the attack, which will be far greater than those of 9/11.

The former Yemeni operative added in the report that the terror group is currently in a 'positive phase' of staffing and rebuilding training camps around the globe.

The report cited the unnamed source as claiming that al-Qaeda may provide indications of its future plans over the next few days.

Bin Laden is said to have sent a message to all jihad cells six months ago, asking them not to interact with their governments or local political parties and to reject any request for mediation or talks.

The report comes just days after former US national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski said that president-elect Barack Obama may possibly be tested by terrorists after he takes office on January 20.

"I fear al-Qaeda could try to test Obama," a top Italian anti-terror official also told the Los Angeles Times.

Earlier in October, vice president-elect Joe Biden also predicted that it would not be 'six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy.'

The last two US presidents have been tested early in office - The World Trade Center was attacked in 1993 and 2001, both in the first years of the presidency of Democrat Bill Clinton and Republican George W. Bush.
